The past three weeks...

...have been nothing but a series of debaucheries. While I feel totally exhausted, I can't remember when I've had three solid weeks of continuous fun. It all pretty much got kicked off on August 16th with a random night out until 2 AM and ended (finally) this past Monday at 4 AM. I've been out 18 of the past 21 nights, clocking in at home past 4 AM for six of them and 6 AM for three of them. Amazingly enough I've participated in all of this craziness on top of actually getting my work done and not missing one day at the gym.

I thought I had somehow been taken back in time and was 21 again (though I was actually more well-behaved then) until I woke up this morning feeling like my body was shutting down on me...though I'd slept for 13 hours. Although we are moving into my favorite time of the year full of birthdays (mine included) and football Saturdays, I'm vowing to take a break, as to avoid feeling like I do at this very moment. In the meantime, I've got a hot-list full of fun to remind me why I'm totally worn out.

Highlights
The mojito crawl, the National at South Street Seaport, Meghan’s bday shindig, Forbidden Broadway, Labor Day shenanigans, visit from my Austin cuz, celeb spotting Jemaine from Flight of the Concords at Caracas, Aunt Mary returning to town, a fun-filled Friday night with Kooz, fun first dates, random Wednesday night dance party at Solas, Margs at Tortila Flats, Georgia football, spontaneous wine bar hop, and Australians (who can party like no humans I've ever met).

Lowlights
Discovering I SUCK at fooseball, having to bail on my trip to the ACL festival, hangovers, and missing a girls' weekend away.

Spotlight
Despite all of the outings, drink-a-thons and evenings with cute boys, the spotlight falls on the kickoff of football season. Most of my friends are shocked by my obsession with football. As one friend says, “it doesn’t fit in with the indie rock, tech-nerd, manhattan socialite thing you’ve got going on.” I think the shock comes because most of my friends equate die-hard SEC college football fans with white trash rednecks. And while I may have a subtle southern accent, I’m far from anything closely resembling a redneck. Anyway, I love football and I look forward to gameday Saturdays for the next 14 weeks. Georgia looked pretty good during the home opener and as long as they keep it up, I will be a happy girl and it will be a fantastic fall!

I'm still rolling through the vanmega mix. But I've been going back to the Odelay album quite a lot lately.

What up hot list?

I've been back in NYC for about a week. All I can say is THANK GOD! It's been a pretty fun few weeks, though it has been super busy (and a tad stressful). Anyway, here's the recap.

Highlights
Trip back to Athens GA, bringing sexy back at JT, Court's new fantastic roomie, Kevin K being back from LA, seeing Ratatouille, eating arepas twice in a week, finishing Harry Potter, and a fun-filled Saturday which included - lunch at Caracas, The Simpsons, a failed trip to PS1, Water Taxi Beach, exploring Queens, a nice walk, and a yum dinner at Atlas.

Lowlights
Being one of the few that missed the Daft Punk show and discovering that "my bar" had become infested with a douche crowd while I was away.

Spotlight
This is going to sound weird. BUT I think the thing worth noting and applauding is the fact that a year ago this week I officially got out of my relationship with Either/Or...for good. There's something powerful in loving someone so much and feeling like you can't imagine your life without them, yet still having the strength to walk away from them. And I did that. I walked out. A year ago. And I am 987 times a happier, nicer, more sane person because of it. YAY!

Not much going on here.

I've been at my parent's house for 4 days now and am pretty much bored out of my skull. But I'm well-rested. Last night I slept for 11 hours. The night before I slept for 9. It has been good to detox from the past three weeks of debauchery. I've got nothing else but the hotlist.

Highlights
Seeing Grey Gardens before it closed, Arepas (otherwise known as the best thing I've eaten in a really long time) from Caracas, impromptu Mojito Crawl, Cuz's new job, visiting with High School friends, hanging with mama, and not drinking for five days.

Lowlights
Not drinking for five days

Spotlight
Having my BFF in town for a long weekend. It was a great time, although I was a little grumpy from serious lack of sleep. But she put up with my grumpy ass and we laughed for five days straight.

They sent it from an email address I didn't recognize and signed "Guess Who."

Dear Guess Who,

Thank you for the gift. You reminded me that I love The Fratellis and this song, in particular. I have listened to it about 500 times. And even though it was driving me crazy trying to figure out who sent it, I'm just satisfied knowing that someone would think of me when they hear it.

Weezie is back in 07

OK – so it has been almost 8 months since my last post. Needless to say, I’ve been swamped with work and travel and work. But now I am back above water and only have 12 more work days left until I am free for two and a half months of summer fun.

This is the big news. I quit my job and am not starting my new gig until the fall. So this leaves me with two and a half months of doing whatever I want (except the occasional trips to the bay area for VC meetings for the new gig).

So look forward to regular posts documenting the trouble I’m bound to find with such a large amount of free time on my hands. In the meantime, here is the Hotlist from the past 8 months!

Highlights
Turning 30 – really fun party with my really great friends, Sundance – 11 days in Park City spent eating, drinking, skiing, and oh yeah – watching movies, a trip to Palm Desert with 80 degree weather while it was snowing in NYC, another trip to Utah for the last bit of snow, quitting my job, BP moving back to NYC, ending my six month travel stint.

Lowlights
Six months of constant traveling, working through the most painful of holiday seasons, Rockelle moving to SF. (short list of lowlights = very good thing)

Spotlight
Catching SNL a few weeks back with Lil’ Cuz, Court, and Chelsa! It was awesome.

Crazy Work Story
There has been so much crazy stuff going around at work that I don’t even know where to begin. And since I’m not going to be working, I’m dropping this section off the hotlist.

What I’m listening to
The question really is, what am I not listening to? There is so much great music on my iPod right now that I’m having a really hard time deciding what to listen to. But if I had to guess, I’d say that the new Bright Eyes Album, Cassadaga, is getting a lot of attention because it just came out. But the Cold War Kids and Snow Patrol Albums are getting their fair share of play time. Ohh – and The Shins latest album, Wincing the Night Away, is totally awesome.
